Journey to Guatamala

The border crossing was very simple. The amount of truck transport was enormous. Some truck drivers had to wait for up to two weeks to cross the border from Guatamala to El Salvador, so prostitution is rife and with it comes disease!
It rained most of the way so we had no views at all of the Pacific ocean which we folled for most of the way. We did however spot a hawk, apparently a very unusual occurance!

As we approached Antigua, the volcano, Fuerte, spewed out a huge dust cloud.

A close up-

We were met by a representative of Audley's Travel and welcomed to the city of Antigua.

This photo has been taken from just outside our room. The hotel Meson de Maria is beautiful.
